William Bardsley Civil War letters, 1863-1991 (bulk 1863-1865).

This collection consists of photocopies of nine Civil War letters from William Whitehead Bardsley to his wife, Rebecca McKelvey Bardsley, 7 December 1863 to 13 March 1865, from Nashville, Tenn., Resaca, Ga., and various camps. It also includes an incomplete letter to William Bardsley's mother dated 1899, a photocopy of two news articles about John W. Bardsley importing English sparrows into Philadelphia in 1869, two copies of a family photograph, and a memo that Lois Geilfuss O'Brien recorded on May 5, 1991 regarding Rebecca Bardsley's father's encounter with the Molly Maguires.
